List of SEO plugins
Here is a non-exhaustive list of plugins that can improve the SEO of a WordPress blog:

All in one SEO pack: a great classic, this pack allows the customization of title tags, meta description, canonical tag management, automatic tag generation meta tags ...

Broken link checker: Make sure your blog does not link to dead pages.

Copyright footer RSS:
very simple and light home-made plugin that allows adding a copyright link at the end of the articles of his blog. It's handy to gain some links from sites that copy the content of your RSS feed (RSS directory, RSS aggregate or content thief).

Do follow:
Remove the no follow attribute from the comment links. Allows more comments and therefore more interaction. But we must take care a little more bad spam.

Google positioned: tool to track its positioning on Google

Google XML Sitemaps: Generates the XML sitemap automatically. Then you have to add the Sitemap URL in Google Webmaster Tools.

Inlinks:
plugin to add a link (internal or external) on certain words that you have defined. In this way you improve your internal linking on well defined anchors.

SEO long tail:
tool to keep track of web crawler visits and to know popular keywords.

Site Map:
Automatically generates a sitemap page. This page is useful for both visitors and search engines.

Redirection:
plugin already mentioned on this blog because it is possible to redirect all the articles of WordPress easily. The plugin also has a tool that records whenever a user accesses a dead URL on your blog. Then it is possible to create a redirection if this page is often visited.

SEO friendly images:
backup wheel if you forget to specify the attribute of your images, this plugin will fill them for you automatically.

removes unnecessary little words (see the, the, of ...) in the URLs. It is something that can be done manually but the plugin saves a little time and it avoids forgetfulness.

optimizes the management of internal links. Among other things, it allows you to automatically insert links to other articles within its site. It improves internal linking easily and quickly.

SEO super comments:
Inserts article comments on new pages. By increasing the number of pages, there are more pages to index on very distinct terms so it brings more visits. Personally I am not adept of this plugin.

ShareThis:
Nowadays SEO also means having a good presence on social networks. This plugin adds a link to share content on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, email and many more.

W3 total cache:
Caches web pages of the blog to improve loading time. Useful indirectly because the loading speed is a data used by Google for the ranking of web pages.

WordPress SEO by Yoast:
allows managing the title tags, meta description and meta tags. More powerful than All-in-one SEO. Also, manages XML sitemap, RSS feed optimization, breadcrumb trail, integration with social networks ...

WP-PageNavi:
adds links to navigate between pages. This is useful for ergonomics and SEO because it improves internal linking.

WP SMO:
adds metadata to pages and articles so that these pages present a nice overview when they are shared on social networks such as Facebook, Google+, Twitter or even Linkedin.

Yet Another Related Posts Plugin:
adds internal links at the bottom of articles to content of the same theme. Enhances SEO again thanks to a better internal mesh. But it is also convenient for readers who can continue reading on content that is likely to please them.

It's up to you to indicate your indispensable plugins in the comments.
